Tivoli

As my escape from the complex and busy, I headed for Tivoli. This town on a hilltop 45 minutes east of Roma, had two main sites of interest.
First was the Villa d'Este, a huge
Renaissance garden and palace. Beautifully manicured flora and fountains powered by spring water, The estate exhibits Italian 16th century styles at its most refined.
Rich colors in the hunting room frescoes.
The second site was Villa Adriana, Hadrian's Villa.

The huge estate holds a vast amount of Roman architectures dating from 2nd century AD. The emperor Hadrian used the estate as an getaway from Rome.
